State Representative Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) is happy to announce that she has received the “Distinguished Service Award” from the Ohio Trucking Association, an award presented to public servants who display exceptional integrity and persistence in representing the trucking industry.
“I was honored to receive the Ohio Trucking Association ‘Distinguished Service Award’ for my work in the legislature,” Roegner said. “The Ohio Trucking Association represents over 850 trucking companies across the state.”
Roegner has been a strong supporter and advocate for Ohio’s trucking industry, including as the sponsor of House Bill 71. That legislation provided protections for trucking employees from indemnification clauses in transportation contracts that required trucking companies to assume responsibility for damages outside their control. Thanks to Roegner’s efforts, Ohio became the 44th state to adopt such a measure.
“Representative Roegner’s willingness to take on this legislation and vigorously work this process is another example of her ability to be a leader in the Ohio Legislature and to fight to do the right thing,” said Tom Balzer, President and CEO of the Ohio Trucking Association.
Roegner is running for her fourth term in the 37th Ohio House District, which includes portions of northeastern Summit County.
The Ohio Trucking Association represents the interests of more than 850 member companies with business interests in Ohio.
