The son of a veteran and small business owner, J. Todd Smith learned early on the values of commitment, community and family at a young age.
Smith was the fourth of five children in a close-knit family, which owned and operated an auto repair business.
Todd met his wife, Jennifer, while serving as an associate pastor in Hamilton. J. Todd and Jennifer are the proud parents of four, all of whom grew up right here in the 43rd District, in Germantown.
During their 24 years of marriage, Jennifer and J. Todd have actively engaged in service to their community. Their commitments to school activities include tutoring, chaperoning, and substitute teaching. J. Todd serves on the Valley View School District Security Committee, which explores the prevention of school violence. He has been a featured speaker at numerous community, religious, and civic events, and is frequently asked to do invocations for them. He is involved with such conservation groups as Quails Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the NRA.
He enjoys conversation, reading, traveling and the outdoors.
J. Todd Smith graduated with honors from Cincinnati Christian University and earned a Master’s Degree in New Testament.
