Don Manning grew up in the 59th District, attended Springfield Local High School and MCCTC. He served in the United States Navy onboard the USS Forrestal CV-59 during Operation Dessert Shield. He went on to manage multi-million dollar budgets in the private sector before moving into the non-profit sector. He later earned a BA in Social and Criminal Justice with a Minor in Political Science and Sociology.
Don Manning has worked in the Criminal Justice System as a Truancy Officer, a Detention Officer, and a Case Manger where he dealt directly with juvenile offenders and those with mental health, behavior, and addiction issues. He is currently employed as a Quality and Compliance Analyst for Youth Intensive Services. His duties include investigation of Fraud, Waste and Abuse, Safe Crisis Management Instructor, and conducting internal investigations and audits. Don also currently serves as a New Middletown Village Councilman.
Don is the father of two children who attend South Range Local High School, where he had the privilege of being the Vice President of the South Range Little Raiders and their JV Head Coach for several years. He is an avid golfer and has participated on a team for several years in the Youngstown Area Community Cup.
