Don Jones is a native of our part of Ohio, where he is a small business owner and has been an educator for the past 22 years.
He is running to represent the residents of Ohio’s 95th district for the Ohio House of Representatives.
Don is an agricultural education teacher and FFA advisor at Harrison Central High School, where he works with students in grades seven through 12, teaching ag-related subjects as well as preparing for career development competitions.
When not teaching or working with students, Don can be found at his family’s farm equipment dealership, D & J Sales & Service Inc. His role is multi-functional as he focuses mainly in the parts department, but will also include customer service, sales and management decisions.
Community involvement has always been important to Don. He has been a certified volunteer fireman and emergency medical technician (EMT) for the last 25 years with the Deersville Community VFD & Emergency Squad. He also served nine years as Chairman of the Harrison Soil and Water Conservation District. Currently, Don is serving in his ninth year as president of the Harrison County Agricultural Society, where he has served on the board for the past 17 years. He has chaired the South Central Power Foundation board since its inception in 2014. Don is also a member of the Harrison County Farm Bureau board where he has served in various capacities. He is on the Ohio FFA Board and is a member of the NRA.
Don and his wife, Amy, are Harrison County natives and live near Freeport, where they have raised their two daughters, Jalyn and Emi. Don and his family attend Minksville Church of Christ.
